After a traumatic incident during his residency, young medical student James Hayman (Namir Smallwood) moves to a rural hospital for a fresh start. Dr. Harrison (played by Michael Potts) suggests that she attend a course that focuses on good manners and fostering deeper relationships with patients. The demons of James’ past begin to catch up with him when he finds himself on the case of a young asthmatic patient (Sidney Flanigan, NOT RARELY SOMEONE ALWAYS) with mysterious symptoms. His grip on reality begins to slip as his disturbing nightmares, anxiety-fueled speculations, and physical injuries collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. Director Alex Thompson assembles a strong cast of veteran character actors to follow SAINT FRANCES and its predecessors GHOSTLIGHT in this unconventional, humanist vision of the genre.
