Story
Released from prison, Lang returns to his hometown in northwest China. As part of a dog patrol tasked with clearing out stray dogs ahead of the 2008 Olympics, he bonds with a black stray.
An outstanding drama directed by Hu Guan
Eddie Peng [the lead character] has developed such a strong bond with Xin, the dog in the film, that he adopts her after filming is complete. China, so it’s no wonder it won the top prize in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes this year.
The drama is set on the edge of the Gobi Desert in northwest China
The story revolves around a guy who returns home after a stint in prison and takes on a job to rid a city of stray dogs before the Olympics. However, he unexpectedly bonds with a black dog, and the two embark on a new adventure.
