Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a well-paid offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and strange video. Katie eagerly accepts the cash-and-eviction job. The video shows people being tortured and even killed on camera – surely this is an elaborately staged fiction. But when her first job leads to even more productive work and disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to fall apart. Strange figures in her apartment, terrifying nightmares that keep her awake, and a mysterious illness affecting her cat. It’s only when Katie finally decides to quit her job that she realises how cruel her anonymous employer really is – and how much she herself is determined to get out of her contract.
