Story
In the midst of an international crisis, Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, is thrust into a high-profile job she’s ill-suited for, with tectonic implications for her marriage and her political future. The producers also convinced the American and British governments to allow them to use real-life locations as filming locations for the series, including the still-new American embassy (at Nine Elms), which opened in 2018.
The only location that was unavailable was Winfield House, the real-life residence of the American ambassador
Britain allowed filming in the Foreign Secretary’s office, a rare honor for any film or film production, especially an American one. While it’s accurately described as occupying the largest residential plot (11 acres) in London outside of Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes.

The Diplomat has everything you want from a great series…it has comedy, drama, great acting and writing, etc., etc. The series is about a diplomat (Keri Russell) who gets a new job as ambassador to the United Kingdom after an international crisis when an aircraft carrier is attacked.
I loved this show so much that I devoured all eight episodes in one weekend
She also has a deal with her husband (Rufus Sewell), who is already a political star, and their rocky marriage. It’s doing so well and getting such good reviews that it’s already been renewed early for another season.
